- Abandoned Vehicle Auctions
Fort Drum Automotive Skills Center and Outdoor Recreation hold semi-annual silent auctions for privately-owned vehicles that have been abandoned on Fort Drum. These auctions are usually held in the spring and fall. They are conducted according to IAW Federal Law 10 USC 2575 and applicable DoD and DA regulations concerning disposition of abandoned personal property. All vehicle sales are AS-IS. DFMWR will not warrant either physical condition of a vehicle nor the purchaser's ability to obtain state title and/or registration.

- Automotive Safety Orientation
Before using the self-help areas of the Automotive Skills Center, customers must complete a mandatory Orientation and Safety Class.
Orientation Classes are held every Wednesday and Friday at 12 p.m. This is open to ID card holders only and is required for ages 14 and up, even for those wishing to assist with a parent or guardian. The class will introduce you to Auto Skills and how it operates, as well as required safety rules.
- Auto Classes
Auto Skills will offer the following classes. All classes are $5 each and open to ages 14+. Participants must have completed the Orientation and Safety class and pre-register.
Preventative Maintenance: 1st Thursday of each month
Brakes: 2nd Thursday of each month
Welding Safety: 3rd Thursday of each month
- Car Washes
Family and MWR maintains two self-help car wash locations on Fort Drum: 10700 Enduring Freedom Drive and 1185 First Street. Each location offers heated bays, vacuum cleaners, and change machines for your convenience.
The car washes are open 24 hours a day during spring, summer, and fall. Due to weather conditions, the hours of operation are lessened during the winter months.
- Propane Service
Propane tanks can be filled if tanks meet the applicable safety requirements. The center reserves the right to refuse filling tanks that do not comply.
- Tow Services
On- and off-post towing to/from Fort Drum is available within a 15 mile radius. Pricing varies within that 15 miles.
We offer lockout service on and off post and jump starts on post only.
- Resale Lot
Car shoppers can see what automobiles are for sale 24 hours a day at the Fort Drum POV Resale Lot located in the front of the Automotive Skills Center. The Resale Lot is open April 1 through October 1. Sellers pay $10 per month and must also have valid registration and insurance on the vehicle. Visit the Automotive Skills Center to make arrangements to use this Resale Lot for selling your vehicle.
