Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, all CYS spring sports/activities are cancelled. If you have previously paid for your child to participate in any of our spring programs, your refund has been credited to your CYS account. If you'd like for that credit to be applied as a refund to your bank account please call 315-772-4411.

The Fort Drum Child and Youth Services Sports & Fitness Program emphasizes safety, participation, fun and good sportsmanship. All registered participants are evaluated, assigned to a team, issued a basic uniform and guaranteed a specific amount of playing time.

The program is designed to provide all youth the opportunity to participate, develop fundamental skills and grow in an atmosphere of sportsmanship, citizenship and teamwork.


Any child wishing to participate in Sports & Fitness programs must be registered with Child and Youth Services. Once registered with CYS, registration for individual sports programs may be done at the Sports & Fitness Center at 10790 Chapel Drive or Parent Central Services, 2nd Floor of Clark Hall. Or children and youth who are currently registered with CYS may log onto WebTrac to sign up for programs.

Sports Physicals

A sports-specific physical must be completed annually, prior to the start of the sports season. The form must be completed with a doctor’s signature and stamp and submitted to Parent Central Services during registration. 

Note: The best time to get your child’s physical, if possible, is in July so your child’s physical will be valid for all sports for one full year.

All Play Rule

All Play Rule

The Youth Sports Program’s “All Play” Rule ensures that every player in good standing will play a certain amount of time in every game.

  • Outdoor soccer and basketball, the minimum is two quarters.
  • Baseball, the minimum is three innings.
  • Tackle football, the minimum is eight plays.
  • Indoor soccer, the minimum is one half. This does not mean that each child will play the entire quarter or half.
Youth Sports Schedule

CYS Sports offers seasonal sports throughout the year.

Spring (May–June) - Baseball, Softball, T-Ball, Running/Track, Mini Soccer, Soccer, Flag Football, and Archery

Summer Camps (June–August) - Archery, Basketball, Adventure Camp, Speed & Agility, Soccer, and Wrestling

Fall (August–October) - Flag Football, Archery, T-Ball, Mini Soccer, Soccer, and Baseball

Winter (November–March) - Skiing/Snowboarding, Basketball, Wrestling, and Bowling

Start Smart - Start Smart Programs help develop coordination, sporting skills and good sportsmanship for ages 3 to 5 years.

Year-Round Instructional Programs - Taekwondo is offered all year long. Gymnastics, Speed & Agility, Strength Training, and Fitness programs are offered September through June. Ages, program fees, and schedules vary.
