- Gear To Go
The Gear to Go counter is located in the Outdoor Recreation Office, offering a wide variety of recreational and event equipment.
Winter items are available November 1 through April 30 and include ice-fishing, skiing and snowboarding packages. Summer items are available May 1 through October 30 and include canoes, tents, bicycles, campers, sleeping bags and more. Click the links to see prices and all items you can check out each season.
In addition to recreational items, special event items are also available. These items include inflatable bounce houses and slides, character costumes, popcorn, cotton candy and Sno-Cone machines. Complete brochures are also available at the Outdoor Recreation office.
A rental day is considered time of pick up to 12 p.m. the following business day. If rental items are returned later than 12 p.m. on the designated turn-in date, you will be charged an additional day's fee for the rented item(s). All items must be clean and in good working order for acceptance by Family and MWR Staff. Damages/loss will result in additional fees.
All reservations require a $25 non-refundable deposit (or a one-day rental fee for items less than $25), payable upon reservation. This fee will be applied to the final cost of goods and/or services. All equipment rentals are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Dirty Harry's Sportsman Lodge
Dirty Harry's is available for rent for any special occasion such as weddings, organizational meetings, parties, or FRG meetings. Tables, chairs, a horseshoe pit, grills, pool table, and a full kitchen are some of the amenities that may be included with rental for a half or full day. Call Outdoor Recreation for more information.

- $75 for 4-hour (or less) half day
- $125 for 8-hour+ full day
- $175 refundable cleaning deposit
Cleaning deposit and usage fees are both due in full at the time of reservation.
All renters must provide an event plan and risk assessment at the time of pre-inspection or prior to rental date.
The facility may not be occupied past 9 p.m. No exceptions.
Key return and post-event inspection is at 9 a.m. the next business day. Late returns will forfeit their cleaning deposit unless you have received prior authorization for a later return time.
- Recreational Shooting Complex
Steve's Schützen Platz Recreational Shooting Range
The range is closed for the winter (November 1 through April 1).
Steve's Schützen Platz Recreational Shooting Complex is located off of Pannels Road between Outdoor Recreation and the Warriors Transition Unit.
This complex consists of a Rifle and Pistol Range, an Archery Range, and a Skeet Trap Range. Ammo and weapons are subject to inspection upon arrival at the range, and weapons must be registered at Fort Drum Department of Emergency Services (DES). All shooters must have a range safety card, use only installation-registered firearms, and attend at a video orientation prior to using the range. Range usage is subject to a fee, which includes paper targets. Use of these facilities is open to all Active Duty personnel and their Family members, retired military, and authorized DoD personnel. Call Outdoor Recreation for additional requirements or restrictions.
- Firearm Storage
Store your personal firearms at Outdoor Recreation. We can store handguns, rifles, or bows, and pay the same rate whether it's only one or multiple pieces.
According to AR 198-11, storing firearms in your vehicle while on the installation is prohibited, so let us help you ensure you are in compliance.

- Vehicle Storage Lot
Store your campers, RVs, trailers, boats, cars, and trucks in the MWR open-air storage lot.
The rate is $35 per month and you can pay for more than one month at a time.

- Hiking Club
The Fort Drum Hiking Club offers regional day hikes for all ages and abilities throughout the spring, summer, and fall.
